That is the question! The other morning I woke up to an incredible sunrise so donning my fashionable pjs I grabbed my camera and went out on my front deck and set up. I waited a few minutes until the sun looked like it was catching the Earth on fire and snapped away. When I came in I started looking through and generating HDR pics. I have only done HDR a few times and am a complete novice so I am not even sure I have the setting to its best. I just keep playing with it until I see something I like. Compared to regular shooting I think I still am a fan of natural. I like HDR better when other people do it and on cloudy days to give the clouds texture and depth. Oh well that is my opinion anyway. By the way this sunrise was in Conception Harbour taken from Kitchuses.

Well we semi moved into our new home over Christmas and we are finding we are getting a lot done with the plastering and painting in the evenings. I adore my house and all the work that is going into it and in the mornings when I wake I have to say I feel very lucky that I get to wake up to this veiw everyday.

Well it has been requested many times to post anything, so here it goes. My new house is coming right along and I hope to be in it for Christmas. On Sunday we got a little taste of the winter weather and what everything will look like for us this Christmas. We drove back to Mt. Pearl on Sunday before it got too bad and went out again on Monday morning. I was so pleased to see how the drive reminded me of a Dolly Partonish Colorado Christmas movie type… It inspired me to blast the Christmas music in my car as I saw the trees heavy with new fallen snow and the sun coming up over the mountains. Here are a couple of pics.

Yep that is the name of the community that we are moving to when the renovations on our house are complete. It is a beautiful area with opportunites everywhere. I have not had much time to explore yet but here is a little tease.

Maybe if it will stop raining long enough I may beable to get some more Fall shots.

But not a drop to drink! Recently at our new house we had a well drilled and it was quite amazing watching a drill bit bore 300 feet into the earth. We successfully hit water on this beautiful day only to be followed with two weeks of rain and drizzle. Despite the lousey weather we, including myself, husband, fellow geek and friend dug a trench from the well to the house to only be swamped with water 3 feet down and a river gently trickling down the driveway from the hill behind us. Oh well, deeper is cleaner and more reliable. They would dig and bail, dig and bail until coming across a heavy boulder right in front of the pipe. Well being the only girl my idea was call a backhoe. Silly me! No, boys being boys, they had to think of a contraption befitting Dr. Suess as our fellow geek had pointed out. After inching the rock up 2×4 at a time it finally came out of the hole. Funny thing, I thought it would be much bigger! ?????? ????? ????

Hi I know it has been awhile but we bought a house in Kitchuses and have been up to our eyes in renovations. Last week I noticed a family of Blue Jays and decided to put a bird feeder outside the kitchen window. Little did I know they were piggies and very particular about what kind of seed they liked. They like sunflower seeds, I bought mixed. When I would go up I would notice that the feeder was empty from the day before. However on Saturday I sat and watched them. They would flick all the seeds from the feeder out on the ground and then fly down and eat only the sunflower seeds. Not wasting any, some little grey birds would come in and clean up. I guess I need to buy some sunflower seeds for my little piggies!
