My Favorite Tree
I have photographed this tree for many years. Way back in the early 90’s I came across it in an old graveyard on my way to Witless Bay. I first took shots of it with black and white 35mm and I seem to revisit it at least once a year to see it in different seasons and light. I thought this shot was nice with the bright blue sky and fresh white snow contrasting its’ gnarly twisted branches.

Fotogeek Virgin

This is a pic from Petty Harbour. Thanks fellow geeks for taking me along and letting me post.
Dedication to photography
As taken directly from the about us page… “Then again, we’re really not dedicated to that much either”… I am here to once and for all dispel that statement.
The evening (Wednesday past) started with an email from geek #1, aka minion, wondering if I was going out to shoot the lunar eclipse, geek #3 (assuming I’m geek #2???) was going to go for it. My reaction was no, it was happening to late and it was cold out. How’s that for dedication, hey I was willing to wait until 2010!! I then decided I would take a picture of the moon at around 8:00 from my front porch. Here’s that picture…

I figured after that shot, I was good and I reached my moon quota for the year! A few hours rolled by and I decided it was time to go to bed for the night, first I had to stop at the little boys room… lo and behold, right out the bathroom window I could see the eclipse! It was happening a lot earlier than I though as well. It wasn’t too late for me to get some quality pictures. You would think I’d bundle up, head out to a better area and snap away. Na, I grabbed the tripod and camera set it up in the bathroom and took a few pictures right out the window, while I was in the nice warm house. Unparalled dedication to photography.. I got it!!

Angus and Akida
I actually have 2 dogs, 1 is so small that I rarely manage to get a picture of her, and to get her and Angus together is even harder to do. Here they are in the yard, Angus and Akida. I should call this one “snack time”.
